Advantages of LCD TV Stands

Most new LCD televisions come from the factory equipped with LCD TV stands to hold the television upright on a flat surface. The LCD TV stand that you have currently may not be appropriate for the new LCD TV you are considering. One of the advantages of the thinner profile LCD televisions is being able to mount them on the wall, but many still prefer to place them on stands that put them in a more comfortable position for viewing.

The traditional cabinets that held older model TVs will more than likely not be large enough to handle the newer, wide screen LCD TVs. Most of these units come in a common size that will generally fit most LCD TVs. Using LCD TV stands the television can be placed on top of a flat stand or even a bedroom dresser depending on its size.

LCD TV stands have to be in a corresponding size to the television that is being considered. It is important that if the TV is 50 inches or more that it be placed on a stand that is big enough to handle it.

Examine the Quality of the Stand

LCD TV stands are manufactured in proportion with the TV it will be mounted to and therefore should be able to keep it upright. However, when the television is installed into its stands for the first time, it is a good idea to check and make sure it does not wobble if bumped. It is recommended that this type of TV be placed on a rigid, flat surface rather than a carpeted floor where it could possible tip over.

Proper care is necessary in the transporting of all LCD televsions due to the delicate nature of the glass sections contain the gas and color. If the television gets dropped or knocked over, it may ruin the picture, rendering the expensive equipment useless. People who require their TVs to be well secured, LCD TV stands should be used.

There are a few wall mounted flat screen TV’s where LCD TV stands are not necessarily required. In the event replacement stands have to be purchased they are best purchased from the manufacturer or authorized representative to insure the replacements hold the television as securely as they are intended.
