Sky are providing a free Sky Plus set top box to all new consumers taking up a TV subscription and signing up to free internet and telephone calls. You can get your free sky+ set top box today. Sky+ is Sky’s television set top box which has included recording options. There is also a slightly more expensive Sky Plus high definition digibox on the market, but this is not on offer on the free digibox deal. When signing up for your complimentary Sky Plus digibox, it’s useful to know if you would like to make use of broadband and home phone packages - more detail is below.
Sky Internet
Sky offer new customers several versions of Sky Internet:
- Sky Internet Base
With speeds up to 2Mb a second, this is the lowest Sky Broadband deal. It is available at no cost to customers opting for Sky Phone as part of their Sky deal, or £5 otherwise. Don’t forget Sky Talk is free for evening and weekend calls, so it makes sense to take the call package for the reduced Internet cost. There is a maximum download limit on Sky Internet Base of 2Gb per month.
- Sky Internet Mid
This option is for customers wanting a bit more from their Broadband connections, perhaps for getting the odd video or downloading music often. Capped at 8Mb a second, with a 40Gb download limit, this is a common selection and one of the reasons for Sky’s Broadband success. Priced at just £5 a month for Sky Talk customers (or £10 if you don’t include Sky Phone in your package), its one of the cheapest Internet options on the market for the connection speed.
- Sky Internet Max
At the time of posting, we aren’t aware of any other entirely uncapped Internet product at £10 a month (£15 if you don’t have Sky Talk). Supporting up to SixteenMb connections, it is probable that the lone limitation will be what your phone line can do!
Free calls with Sky Talk
There are two phone options available from Sky Phone, FreeTime and Unlimited:
- Sky Talk Freetime
Freetime is free off peak phone calls to landlines, and is free to obtain.
- Sky Phone Unlimited
At £5 a month, all phone calls to landlines are free, at all times. Get your free sky+ set top box now.
