The installation of a flat screen LCD TV can transform a dull living room into an impressive entertainment area. Previous experience in mounting a TV can certainly help however with a little planning, some TV brackets and the right tools you should be able to complete the task yourself with relative ease.
The first and most obvious step is to make the decision as to where you want to place it.Position it on the wall which will give you the best viewing position, being careful that it wont reflect any natural light coming in from nearby windows.Don't forget to make sure that you take into account the dimensions of the room as well as the size of your TV.Placing the flat screen TV above a fireplace can be considered a popular option although logistically this can be awkward due to wires running from the TV.
Once you have decided on the best place for your TV you should then use a tape measure and spirit level to centre the TV on the wall. The next task is to take the mounting bracket so that you can mark the general area where it should go. Also accurately mark the location of where the wall screws will go.
Next you should lay a soft cloth onto the floor and place your LCD TV onto it with the reverse side facing up.It is sensible to connect up the cables to your TV whilst it is on the floor as the rear can be very awkward to access once it has been mounted onto the wall. Secure the mounting bars to the TV using the threaded holes on the TV and appropriately sized bolts. Don’t overtighten these bolts but do make sure that they are secure. Once this has been done you can mount the TV onto the wall bracket and it should be safe and secure. To be on the safe side you should get someone to help you with the lifting as these TVs can be quite heavy.
